Installing the Harmony OS 2.0 Beta for Android on some Huawei phones

الصفحة الرئيسية

The day of the operating system that Huawei plans to replace Android has finally come, as it is now already available for some devices. HarmonyOS version 2.0 is now a reality, and some lucky users can already try this Huawei OS on their device.

This was announced by the company itself  about the start of the HarmonyOS 2.0 beta  , in which developers are invited to participate in the initial testing phase of the operating system.

To do this, all you have to do is have one of eight compatible devices - the included cell phones and tablets - and choose Huawei to participate. Once accepted, it will be possible to install HarmonyOS on the device.

According to Huawei, HarmonyOS 2.0 comes with over 15,000 different APIs that support cross-development for smartphones, wearables, cars, and many other devices.

In order to test the operating system, there are two options. One of them is through the official HarmonyOS emulator built into Huawei DevEco Studio IDE. The other is to request a place in the beta program for the platform. This trial version is available for these 8 devices:

Huawei P40 (ANA-AN00)

Huawei P40 Pro (ELS-AN00)

Huawei Mate 30 (TAS-AL00)

Huawei Mate 30 5G (TAS-AN00)

Huawei Mate 30 Pro (LIO-AL00)

Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G (LIO-AN00)

Huawei MatePad Pro (MRX-AL19)

Huawei MatePad Pro 5G (MRX-W09)

Huawei MatePad Pro Wi-Fi (MRX-AN19)

Huawei itself indicates that it is an unstable operating system and therefore it is not recommended to install it on used devices such as mobile phones or personal tablets.

For now, that's all we know about this first phase of HarmonyOS deployment. Huawei is expected to announce news in the coming weeks regarding the development and distribution of its new operating system. We'll stay in touch until then.
